With this work in seven videos, the artist proposes a reflection on the perception of our territory using a vocabulary specific to cinema. Each video presents a landscape with specific natural elements (mountains, rocks, trees, flowers, smoke or asteroids). They are filmed in a way that blurs the boundaries between dream and reality, making us perceive space in a new way. The feeling of disorientation and displacement that this creates leads viewers to question their own vision, as well as the fundamental role given to the gaze by our society. The games of image manipulation used throughout the videos refer to cinematographic processes while remaining within the realm of the visual arts. The omnipresence of the artist’s hands and gestures on the screen reflects the creative process and contributes to this sense of discrepancy. The artist’s movements also introduce a bodily dimension to the experience of visual and mental transformation. This work, at the intersection of art and cinema, takes up themes dear to Emmanuelle Antille, such as the creative process, gesture, territory and language.
